Stay Connected Beyond Mobile Coverage
The inReach Mini 3 keeps text communication and SOS available when mobile service is not. With an active inReach subscription, you can send and receive text messages through the Iridium satellite network and trigger an interactive SOS with your GPS coordinates to Garmin Response, its 24/7-staffed international coordination centre. LiveTrack and MapShare-compatible tracking also let others follow your progress while you are moving.
Message Straight From the Device
The 1.9-inch colour touchscreen works alongside physical buttons, giving you both touch and button controls on the device as it best suits you. A virtual keyboard lets you write text messages directly on the Mini 3, with a 160-character limit per message. Pairing a compatible smartphone with Garmin Messenger adds contact syncing, group messaging, emojis and reactions, and it can use the phone's Wi-Fi or cellular connection before switching to satellite when those connections are unavailable. Photo and voice messaging are not supported on the Mini 3.
Navigation Beyond the Basic Basemap
The Mini 3 includes point-to-point navigation, TracBack and a tilt-compensated 3-axis compass, giving you useful navigation tools alongside its communication functions. Its preloaded basemap is deliberately simple, covering city names, national boundaries and large bodies of water rather than detailed topographic mapping. Pair it with Garmin Explore for trip planning, road routing, satellite imagery, hydrographic features, points of interest and additional map detail on a compatible smartphone.
Built for Long Days Off Grid
At 122.2 g and 5.5 x 9.8 x 2.67 cm, the Mini 3 keeps the satellite communication system in a compact format, perfect for keeping your gear light. The inReach Mini 3 is has a IP67 water rating and the bare device is tested to MIL-STD-810 for thermal, shock and water. Its internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery is rated for up to 350 hours with a 10-minute tracking send interval under Garmin's stated conditions.
