Stay Connected Beyond Mobile Coverage
When mobile coverage drops away, the Garmin inReach Mini 2 continues to provide two-way messaging, location sharing and interactive SOS through the Iridium satellite network. You can exchange text messages, share your position through MapShare and, when needed, send an interactive SOS to Garmin Response. An active inReach satellite subscription is required for these communication, tracking and SOS functions.
Find Your Way Back on the Device
TracBack routing gives the Mini 2 more than a communication role. It can guide you back along your recorded path towards your starting point, directly on the device. The built-in digital compass also provides heading information while you are standing still.
When paired with the Garmin Explore app on a compatible smartphone, you have access to trip planning, topographic mapping and management of waypoints, courses, activities and collections. Garmin Messenger also provides another way to handle messaging from your phone when paired with the Mini 2.
Compact for Longer Trips
At 100 g and 5.17 x 9.90 x 2.61 cm, the Mini 2 keeps satellite communication and navigation in a small, lightweight handheld format. Battery life reaches up to 14 days in the default 10-minute tracking mode with standard activity recording and a full view of the sky. Actual runtime varies according to settings and surrounding cover.
The IPX7 water rating means the device is rated for incidental immersion in water to a depth of 1 m for up to 30 minutes. Garmin also lists the Mini 2 as impact resistant to MIL-STD-810.
