About us. 
Gun City is New Zealand’s largest firearms store, supplying Kiwi’s with hunting and shooting gear for over 40 years! We are keen shooters and hunters and we want to share our love of the sport with our customers. We pride ourselves on giving excellent customer service and the best advice on shooting and hunting.

Our history.
Founded in 1978 by David and Betsy Tipple who purchased the “Reloading Technical Services” store, located at 95 Manchester Street Christchurch. The store only had a 47sqm footprint!

Since then Gun City has grown to 11 locations nationwide, including our flagship store at 484 Cranford Street, Christchurch- The World’s Largest Gun Store! We are one store with many locations  nationwide. We are 100% Kiwi owned and proud of it!

Family business.
Gun City has been a family owned and operated business since opening in 1978, now spanning 3 generations! David’s children are an integral part of Gun City and his grandchildren are also working within the company!

Gun City has the greatest range of firearms and shooting accessories in the country. We strive to offer an incredible in-store experience for each and every one of our customers!
