"...We thoroughly enjoyed the battery, having it connected to the rod means no cable leads back to a physical battery in the boat. We went out fishing from Moeraki,...the weather was projected to be variable 10 knots but unfortunately it was more like 15 knots, but having the battery connected to the rod, meant we were still able to fish with the electric reel, and not have other issues with the boat rocking and rolling about and batteries falling over or loosing connection. We fished for 4 hours and the charge was still at 75% and we did a lot of drops and winding up of fish in this time. We managed to catch our limit of 20 blue cod, a Hapuku. This is a great product and we would highly recommend to anyone, in fact we have let a number of our friends know that use electric reels, some for deep sea fishing and others using for trawling also."
