SorenVerified customer · Jun 2026I went on a three day hunting trip in the Southern Alps. I saw plenty of deer around but couldn't find the trophy stag I was looking for. The trailmate cooker was great to have for preparing my freeze dried meals and coffee at the end of a hard days hunting. The cooker was very easy to use and boiled water quickly when I needed it. I particularly liked the push button igniter which made lighting it easy, and the wind resistant design which helps when making a brew on the exposed tops. The included legs make it very stable on uneven surfaces and its compact size means that it fits nicely in my pack. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a light and fast cooker to take hunting or tramping. It boils 0.5L of water in under two minutes and has a wind resistant design ideal for camping in exposed places. The only improvement I would like is for it to have a stand for using a frypan on the stove.

RyanVerified customer · Jun 2026I took this cooker up the bush during a hunt and found it heated up in under 2 minutes with the lid on. It was able to make about three hot drinks and also used to heat freeze dried food , which was perfect for the conditions. It made things really easy and reliable while I was out there. My favourite thing about this is how small it packs down and takes up hardly any space. I used the bigger gas canisters, but I think the smaller ones would fit inside so everything packs together nicely. It also heats up really fast, which is a big plus when you’re on the move, and the outer sleeve is great because it stops you from burning your hands while pouring or drinking. I would definitely recommend this because it’s simple to use and really quick when you’re on the go. It’s useful for both short and long trips, and there are other attachments you can pair with it too. It’s a great bit of gear for hunting, deer stalking, duck shooting, or anytime you don’t have access to normal cooking equipment.

We experienced great weather and loads of beautiful scenery. I took my Trailmate Nitro cook stove for its first big adventure and it definitely ticked the boxes for a light weight stove. I love how much smaller the Trailmate is than my other stove. It is also very efficient on gas use. We used it for water heating and cooking and it performed perfectly! I would definitely recommend the Trailmate Nitro to anyone looking for an affordable, lightweight stove for your backpacking trips into our beautiful mountains.

The water was a little chilly and we were quickly in waist deep water flicking spinners around. First light hit and out came the Trailmate Cooker for a nice hot coffee and hot chocolates to warm us up. The Trailmate cooker is so compact and versatile you barely notice the weight, setting it up is quick and easy and is lit, heating the water in no time!
