It is a practical configuration for river, water-sports and emergency-response use where the blunt-tip design is an important part of the knife.

The 60.58 mm blade is made from AUS 8 steel with a stonewash finish. CRKT states that the steel is corrosion resistant, while the bright orange glass-reinforced nylon handle is textured and built around a finger retention hole to help maintain grip in wet conditions.

The supplied thermoplastic sheath provides multiple mounting options, giving the fixed blade a dedicated carry setup. The complete knife measures 144.48 mm overall and weighs 90.72 g, keeping the Bear Claw compact from blade to handle.
