The A17 from Savage is the first rimfire autoloader specifically designed for high-performance magnum cartridges. The A17 is built around a delayed blowback action that ensures proper timing for the heavier pressure of the 17 HMR round, preventing case rupture. The barrel is button-rifled for precision and the receiver is case-hardened for durability. The bolt is hard-chromed with dual controlled round feed.
