Benchmade Knife Bugout Vapyr Black Aluminum Drop Point
This is the Bugout® redefined—33% thinner and longer cycle life than a standard Bugout. Built on a black aluminum chassis with a Taiga Green backspacer and matching thumb stud, it features a premium Magnacut drop-point blade finished in stealthy black Cerakote®. Lightweight, low-profile, and high-performance—everything the Bugout® was meant to be, pushed even further.
Features
- Drop-Point Blade Style: Drops off the spine to the tip. Tip height is typically below the center line on the blade.
- CPM-Magnacut Stainless Steel Blade (60-62 HRC): A new approach to stainless tool steel that eliminates chromium carbides from the microstructure. The result: a combination of properties with similar toughness and edge retention to non-stainless steels like CPM-CruWear and CPM-4V, with the addition of excellent corrosion resistance and strength.
- 6061-T6 Anodized Aluminum Handle: Exceptionally tough, yet lightweight. Aluminum can be anodized in many colours and milled with fine detail. It also naturally resists corrosion.
- Manual Opening Action: Manually opened knives must be opened 100% from the closed position to the open position by the user.

MEET THE Bugout® Vapyr™
Designed with purpose and built to last, the Bugout® Vapyr™ sets a high bar for durability and performance matched only by our promise that it will be yours, for life.
HOW IT'S MADE
Every Benchmade knife begins with high-grade steel, laser-cut for precision and strength. Each blade is meticulously ground, beveled, and finished to exacting standards, ensuring exceptional performance and durability. Our handles are milled and machined in-house to the tightest tolerances, then hand-assembled and sharpened by expert technicians. With over thirty years of manufacturing excellence behind every edge, our knives are proudly crafted in our state-of-the-art facility in Oregon City, Oregon.
USE & CARE
Proper care and regular maintenance help make your Benchmade knife yours, for life. Here are some tips for keeping your Benchmade in peak condition:
• Prevent Rust: All steels, regardless of grade or price, can eventually rust. To avoid corrosion, always keep your knife clean, dry, and lightly lubricated. If rust or spotting appears, a quality semi-chrome metal polish can usually restore the finish.
• Hand-Wash Only: Always hand-wash your knife with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly.
• Use as Intended: Benchmade knives are precision cutting tools. Do not use your knife as a pry-bar, screwdriver, chisel, or punch—unless specifically designed for those functions.
• Sharpen with Care: If sharpening at home, avoid grinding wheels and high-speed machinery, as they can damage the blade. Use appropriate hand-sharpening methods for best results.
• Tighten Hardware: Over time, handle, pivot, and pocket clip screws may loosen. Use T6 and T10 Torx drivers for adjustments and apply a small amount of releasable thread-locker to maintain secure fittings.
