Uberti revolvers include single-action Army and Navy models designed by Colt. The 1851 Navy was a scaled-up, .36 caliber version of the 1849 Pocket Navy. The handy, more powerful Colt revolvers immediately found a following among soldiers and civilians alike. The U.S. and British military eventually adopted the 1851 Navy revolvers. By the start of the Civil War, Colt had refined the Navy black powder firearms into sleek, streamlined weapons with improved loading levers.
